How to choose good essential oils.

Unlike when used for relaxation purposes, when used for medical purposes, it is necessary to select high-quality essential oils that may come into direct contact with the skin with considering the pharmacological effects of the components .

Since essential oils are from plants, the composition ratio of the components contained in the essential oils varies depending on the environment in which they grow (soil, altitude, climate, climate, etc.), so choose one with a component analysis from GS/MS test.

Check these:

  • 100% natural organic

  • Certified by a specific institution

  • Botanical name and distillation date (or analysis date).

  • Components of essential oils (see component analysis)

  • No pesticides or antioxidants

Precautions for essential oils

Essential oils are volatile and flammable substances, so you need to be careful when storing and using them as well as strictly prohibiting fire.

Since it is easily oxidized and deteriorated by heat, light, temperature change, humidity, oxygen, etc., avoid direct sunlight and hot and humid places after opening, and manage it in a cool and dark place around 20 degrees Celsius.

Since the use of undiluted solution has a strong effect on the body, please be careful in places with small children and pets, and pay attention to prevent an accidental ingestion.

After opening, use within 6 months to 1 year as soon as possible regardless of the expiration date. In particular, essential oils from citrus peels should be used up within half a year after opening.

If you get essential oils in your eyes, first dilute them with vegetable oils (because essential oils are lipophilic and not water-soluble), then wash them with water and then consult a doctor.

Some essential oils cannot be used by pregnant women, infants, or those with a history of illness. Please be sure to consult an expert before use.

If any abnormalities (itch, redness, swelling, irritation, etc.) appear during use, discontinue use immediately, rinse with plenty of water, and consult a doctor if the symptoms are severe.

Some citrus essential oils may cause stains and irritation when exposed to sunlight immediately after use. Please be careful not to go out for 4 to 6 hours after application.

Depending on the components of the essential oil, some are neurotoxic and some are highly irritating to the skin, and some require attention to their concentration and usage. We recommend that you do not rely solely on the scent, but carefully check the components, effects, and contraindications of the essential oil with a specialist or a specialized book before using it.

Essential oils for general aromatherapy use (relaxation, massage, etc.) may differ in quality from the essential oils used for medical aromatherapy. In many cases, general essential oils are not manufactured by the manufacturer assuming use as medical aromatherapy or alternative therapies, and their safety is not guaranteed. Therefore, when using it as a medical aromatherapy, use only organic, medical grade high quality essential oils.
